The City offers several funding mechanisms for Non-profits / Supportive Service Organizations, Small Businesses and Commercial Property Owners. Please review the information below regarding the funding options that are currently available.
For Non-profits / Supportive Service Organizations:
The City provides an opportunity annually for organizations to apply for grant funds for services for our lower income citizens. The application period for this opportunity typically opens in November. Once applications are received, they are reviewed and scored by the Communitywide Council. Their recommendations are then presented to City Commission for final approval. Following approval from the City Commission, the organization is provided a contact for funding.
For Commercial Property Owners:
The City currently provides commercial facade grants for properties located on Avenue D and Orange Avenue from US-1 west through 25th Street. Once applications are received, they are reviewed and scored by the Communitywide Council and are brought before the City Commission for final approval. The application period for these grant opportunities are open until funding is expended.
For Small Businesses:
The City provides grant opportunities to increase the capacity and sustainability of small businesses with five or fewer employees. The grant opportunity is available after the business owner attends two free educational workshops provided by through the City in collaboration with the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE). The application period for these grant opportunities is open until funding is expended. All applications meeting grant funding guidelines are presented to the City Commission for final approval.
