BEACHES & BOAT RAMPS
In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, St. Lucie County will be closing all public beach accesses on North and South Hutchinson Island Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5. This closure includes all of the beach parking lots in the unincorporated area as well as the City Limits of Fort Pierce. Additionally, the Fort Pierce Inlet State Park and Avalon Beach will be closing for the holiday weekend. The City of Fort Pierce beaches and their associated parks including South Causeway Park and Jaycee Park will be closed from 7AM on Friday, July 3 until 7AM on Tuesday, July 7. All city and county boat ramps remain open.

FACIAL COVERINGS
The primary focus for the City of Fort Pierce is to provide a safe environment for all citizens. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and we are working with our community partners, such as the Florida Department of Health of St. Lucie County, to ensure that the most current information is being effectively communicated. Furthermore, we are following the guidelines of the CDC, and are strongly urging visitors of any city facility and our employees to wear a facemask and practice social distancing in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

CITY HALL ACCESS
City Hall is currently open to the public by appointment only. In addition, temperature checks will be implemented and mandated for all employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel that attempt to enter City Hall.

4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY
In an effort to take preventative measures against COVID-19 by avoiding large gatherings, this year's July 4th fireworks display has been postponed until further notice. The City is working with Main Street Fort Pierce to host the event at a later date, prospectively Labor Day Weekend. The City of Fort Pierce shall continue to adhere to CDC, state and federal guidelines in order to reopen our community in a safe and calculated manner.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION
The City of Fort Pierce will host Operation Dinner Table, a free drive-thru food assistance event, this Saturday, June 27 from 9:00am to noon at Percy Peek Gymnasium, 2902 Avenue D. Operation Dinner Table was created to help those in need who have been impacted by COVID-19. For more information, call 772-465-4170

CITY HALL ACCESS
City Hall is currently open to the public by appointment only. In addition, temperature checks will be implemented and mandated for all employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel that attempt to enter City Hall beginning Friday, June 26. Access to City Hall will only be allowed through the east doors adjacent to the lobby.

DEVELOPMENT FEES REDUCTION
In an effort to support the private sector development and business communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Fort Pierce has temporarily modified the planning department development fees through November 30, 2020. The adjustment includes suspending the Pre-Application meeting, Sign Permit, and Sidewalk Café Permit application fees and reducing the application fee for non-residential site plans for projects 4,001 square feet and larger and residential site plans with 21 or more units.

The St. Lucie County Economic Development Council Virtual Business Recovery Center is a FREE service to assist business owners economically impacted by COVID-19. FREE TESTING
The City of Fort Pierce will be offering free COVID-19 swab and antibody testing on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 12PM to 4PM at Ilous Ellis Park (1211 Avenue M, Fort Pierce). No appointment is necessary. For more information, please call 888-519-9192.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
In an effort to allow projects and city business to move forward, the Fort Pierce City Commission approved resolution 20-R26 to allow legislative public hearings to resume on June 15, 2020 and quasi-judicial hearings on July 6, 2020.

SPECIAL EVENTS AND FACILITY RENTALS
As we navigate the phased approach to reopening set forth by the Governor, all special event permits and facility reservations remain on hold until further notice. Special events and facility rentals are expected to be discussed at the Fort Pierce City Commission Conference Agenda Meeting on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 9AM in the Commission Chambers at City Hall. The City of Fort Pierce shall continue to adhere to CDC, state and federal guidance in order to reopen our community in a safe and calculated manner.

ST LUCIE PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUMMER MEALS
The St. Lucie Public Schools Child Nutrition Services Department will continue to serve free meals at the following school sites to children from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 9, 2020 - July 31, 2020. The multi-day meal packages include breakfast and lunch. On Tuesdays, the meal packages contain 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches. On Thursdays, the meal packages contains 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches.
