Criminal Intelligence
Crime Analyst April Lewis has provided a systematic examination of information in order to assist operational and administrative personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities. The crime analyst is also responsible for aiding the investigative process, and increasing apprehensions and the clearance of cases.
Since the department initiated STARTREK (STrategic Automated Record TRacking Enforcement Key), which is based on the New York Police Department's CompStat model, the crime analyst has become vital to its data analysis, application and report preparation. The program aggressively attacks crime problems, based on crime statistics and staff accountability.
Lewis has been with the department since 1999.
