SUPPORT OPERATIONS

The Support Operations Bureau, commanded by Captain Frank Amandro,  provides financial, computer, technical, administrative and personnel support to the various components of the department as well as accreditation, training of personnel, and the recruiting office and other staff members. In addition, the bureau is responsible for tracking, maintaining and disseminating communications and information through the records department.

Citizen's Police Academy:
Curious about police officers? Have questions regarding law enforcement or crime prevention? Then the department's Citizen Police Academy is just for you.

To be accepted, candidates must meet several requirements. Candidates must be 18 or older, live or work in the City of Fort Pierce and cannot have a criminal record. Through a "hands-on" approach, academy students will be introduced to the various functions of the police department, participate in tours and witness law enforcement demonstrations. In addition, there will be two trips to the county jail,  a visit to the crime laboratory, 911 Emergency and the firearm range. There is no charge to attend the Citizen Police Academy, however, space is limited to 20 students on a first come, first serve basis.
