ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

Administration Services, supervised by Sergeant Dennis McWilliams, maintains the department's computer network, phone system, cellular phones, radio system, security system and electronic systems at the police department and its two substations.

This division is further tasked with the maintenance and upgrading of all the department's desktop and laptop computers. Administration Services keep employees equipped with the necessary supplies and equipment to perform their assigned tasks while safeguarding the operational funds allotted to the department through the budget process.

The department's duty station, switchboard operator, supply clerk and mail courier fall under the auspices of Administration Services.

Evidence

Evidence Clerk Sandra Sharples processes a variety of evidentiary and found items daily.  When found items are accompanied by someone's  identification, a letter of notification is sent to the given address.  Found items are considered abandoned after 90 days and are subject to destruction, donation to charity, or auction.

If a person wishes to make a claim on property they have found and turned into the Police Department, a written claim on the property must be made at that time. If, after 90 days the rightful owner has not made claim to the property, the person will then be able to retrieve it. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO FIREARMS.

If you wish to retrieve property that has been processed and is being held by the Fort Pierce Police Department please read the following guidelines:

  • We ask that you call ahead (you will need your case number) to confirm that we have processed your property and that it is available for release.  Appointments are recommended and in some cases required.
  • Your case number and photo identification are required for the return of your property.
  • In some cases other documentation is required.
  • You may assign another person to retrieve your property with a notarized letter of authorization and photo identification.  The letter must be addressed to the Fort Pierce Police Department, 920 S. U.S. Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL  34954 and include:
    • The case number
    • The name of the person you are granting this authority
    • Your signature
    • Notary stamp and signature
