Chief R. Sean Baldwin began his law enforcement career with the Fort Pierce Police Department in 1990. Early in his career, he worked as a patrol officer, community-policing officer, and detective. While rising through the ranks, he served as a sergeant in the criminal investigation and patrol divisions and then as a commander in the community response and patrol divisions. He was promoted to assistant chief in 2001, and appointed as chief of police in 2006.
Chief Baldwin holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Lynn University (Boca Raton, FL) and a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Administration from Barry University (Miami, FL). He is a graduate of several prestigious training programs including the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy (208th Session), the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officers Course (113th Session), and the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Police Supervision.
He is an active community leader and a member of several community boards and advisory committees.
