The Crime Prevention Unit supervisor is to be announced. This unit is part of a grant and will have six officers plus the supervisor assigned. These officers will assist the Community Policing Officers in organizing community crime watch groups, conducting crime prevention through environmental design, surveys, and providing crime prevention education. One of these officers will also be assigned as a juvenile specialist and focus on expanding the intervention and prevention activities for children in the FPRA area.
Three of these officers will be assigned as School Resource Officers. These officers will provide security and prevention activities in schools serving the FPRA area. A Crime Analyst will be added to the department’s crime analysis unit to provide increased support to the community policing, crime prevention, school resource, and patrol officers working within the FPRA area
