Payroll
The importance of Payroll Clerk Melissa Alexander''s job becomes quite evident on paydays. Her duties involve handling the petty cash account, keeping track of personnel time and attendance, requests for leave, overtime and compensatory time. She is also responsible for producing reports for sick and vacation time for personnel evaluations.
Grants
The Fort Pierce Police Department aggressively seeks grant funding to help supplement tax dollars. The department's Grant Writer Sara Agrait is responsible for researching possible state, local and federal grants that can enhance the department's law enforcement efforts. In addition, the grant writer handles the acquisition of and management of grants that have been awarded to the department.
Much of the emphasis in seeking grant funding in 2004 focused on replacing the department's records managment system, purchasing laptop computers for all patrol cars and acquiring equipment to effectively enforce the laws throughout our neighborhoods.
