The City of Fort Pierce is excited to announce the opening of a new public kayak launch located at the intersection of Citrus Avenue and Indian River Drive in Downtown Fort Pierce. Fort Pierce visitors and residents now have a new access point to enjoy the tranquility of the Indian River Lagoon.
Whether it is fishing, paddling with the dolphins and manatees, enjoying the serenity, or getting a workout, there are many reasons to kayak in the Indian River Lagoon. While this location is a perfect place to launch your kayaks, canoes and paddleboards; it is also a picturesque setting to relax along the calm, sandy shoreline.
Public access to the waterfront has always been a top priority for the City of Fort Pierce. The improvement made to this property furthers the city’s mission to provide public access and preservation of the Indian River Lagoon for the enjoyment of citizens and visitors.
