Special Event Definition

A Special Event is any outdoor meeting, activity, parade, gathering or group of 2 or more persons, animals, or vehicles having a common purpose, design, or goal, upon any public street, park, or other public property

Recurring & Nonrecurring Events

Single, non-recurring outdoor public assemblies must be filed with the River Walk Center not more than 180 days before, and not less than 60 days before the event.

Regular or recurring outdoor public assembly must be filed with the River Walk Center not more than 180 days before, and not less than 60 days before the event. Regular or recurring event permits will not be issued for more than a 60 day (monthly) time period.

Obtaining Permits

Special Event Permits are issued by the River Walk Center. The permit process includes assistance from the Public Works Department offering equipment to help make your event more successful for an additional charge.
